2025 Technology Day Sessions
You will be able to choose five workshops/presentations. Most sessions are offered twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Please read the descriptions for the sessions in advance. Some have a workshop component and may recommend that you bring a device.
The 30-minute sessions at lunch are staggered. On the day of the event, you will be assigned a lunch wave to help us manage the flow of traffic to the Union Street Market. If you are in Wave 1, you will attend the short session after lunch. If you are in Wave 2, you will attend the short session before lunch.

30-minute Sessions
Presenter: Zachary Rosensohn, Enterprise Applications – ITS
This session will introduce attendees to the Power BI Data Hub initiative at UConn, using real-world examples from Facility Operations and University Planning, Design, and Construction. We’ll explore the challenges that led to the creation of the Data Hub, the implementation process, and the benefits of a shared, secure data environment.
Attendees will gain a high-level understanding of:
- How on-premises data gateways and semantic models empower departments to create their own reports
- The value of reducing IT bottlenecks for faster insights and decision-making
- Use cases that could inspire new reporting ideas in their own units
Recommendations: This is a non-technical session for staff from all backgrounds. No prior Power BI experience is necessary.
