Modernizing Identity and Access Management
ITS has started the multi-year project to modernize identity and access management (IAM) at UConn. Improving Collaboration with UConn Health in Microsoft 365
UConn and UConn Health maintain separate Microsoft 365 environments, which means accounts, data, security, and compliance are managed independently. As a result, users from one environment are treated as external guests in the other and consequently, have limited access to resources and features.

Windows 10 Desktop Background Alert
Microsoft Windows 10 will be end-of-life October 14, 2025. Because these devices will no longer receive security updates, feature updates, or technical assistance after this date, they will be vulnerable to any newly discovered security threats and therefore, may have their network administratively disconnected as a protective measure.

ITS and Facilities Operations have implemented a new solution for maintenance service requests. The tool, ReADY, streamlines and tracks communication among Facilities departments, field technicians, and reporters, ensuring transparency and faster resolution of service requests.

GPT-5 Available for Paid ChatGPT and Copilot
GPT-5, OpenAI’s latest and most advanced language model, is now available for UConn users who have purchased a license for ChatGPT or Microsoft 365 Copilot. It’s coming in a few weeks for Microsoft Copilot chat, the free version that’s available to everyone at UConn with a Microsoft 365 account.

ChatGPT Available to UConn Faculty and Staff

Windows 10 End of Support
